Surrounding the Old City is the Old City Walls. Centered in the photograph with its gold-domed roof is the Dome of the Rock. In the distance and slightly left of the rock with its gray dome is the Church of Holy Sepulchre. At the far left is the historic village of Silwan, site of the ancient City of David. The closed in gate in the Wall of the Old City to the right of the Dome of the Rock is the Golden Gate.
